Blog101 Chat

Your Live WP, Blogging, and SEO Chat via Twitter

#Blog101

GetFound Consulting is happy to host the #Blog101 Chat live each Friday morning on Twitter from 11 am to 11:30 am EST.

Format

The chat takes place on Twitter and normally has a structured format in which your host, Allison D. Duncan long time blogger and site master, discusses the day’s topic. Questions are encouraged throughout the chat and answered as they come up.

Most topics are chosen based off of user request, timeliness, and latest news for bloggers and site owners. If you have a topic request, please submit them to the chat at any time using the #blog101 hashtag on twitter.

The last five minutes of most chats are an open mic format in which participants can deviate from the chosen topic to bring up other questions that are on their minds.

Sometimes the chat is used as a vehicle for live interviews with noted bloggers or other people of interest. These chats allow participants to gain unprecedented access to folks who may normally be out of the normal sphere of influence.

If the chat runs long, and it sometimes may, questions will be answered as able throughout the rest of the day. If you find a problem or error in advice given during the chat, we encourage you to let us know and a correction will be issued as soon as possible.

Goals

The main goal of the chat is to provide a live IT support forum for bloggers and WordPress site owners alike. A lesser goal is to allow networking between chat participants, increasing site traffic and visibility for those who choose to mention their URL’s in the chat.

Allison D. Duncan has had extensive experience helping clients with sites as well as improving their online presence and SEO. The chat is an outreach to share this knowledge with those who are just getting into the arena or are in need of immediate assistance.

Participation

Because the chat is held on Twitter, it can sometimes be hard for those who don’t normally follow @GetFound2Day [the GetFound Consulting official Twitter account] or @AllisonDDuncan to participate. However, the hashtag feature of Twitter allows participants to track any tweet that includes the tag #blog101 even if they don’t follow the tweeter.

It is by this feature that many Twitter chats operate, allowing cross communication without forcing participants to follow every member of the chat.

In order to participate, you must maintain an open feed on twitter [not have your feed set to Private]. Participants must also be careful to insert the hashtag ‘#Blog101‘ in every tweet they wish chat participants to see.

Participants are encouraged to share their site URL, mention their site or blog niche, and become regulars at the chat. This sort of participant will garner far more from the chat than a non-regular because they will gain name recognition.

Sharing the information regarding Blog101 chat and even the information from the chat itself will help further these goals immensely. Please be sure to link to this page or the transcript of any #Blog101 chat you find particularly useful.

Transcripts

GetFound Consulting attempts to offer transcripts of each chat on the site. You can find the transcripts as blog posts usually within 3 business days of the chat.

If you have questions about a particular chat, please leave those questions as comments on that chat’s transcript post. We’ll try to answer you within 24 hours.
